Research has shown that walking is still one of the best exercises a person can get. It helps improve the cardiovascular system, the lungs, your circulation as well as a number of other benefits such as weight loss and an improved metabolism. Still, many of us don’t seem to find the time, or the perfect environment, to add walking or jogging to our regular routine. This is where home exercise equipment, most specifically an electric treadmill can come in handy.

When considering buying an electric treadmill (also sometimes referred to as motorized treadmills), there are a number of things to consider such as cost, available space in your home, features and of course the quality of the machine.

The cost of these machines can range from as little as $100 for a used tread mill, all the way up to several thousand dollars for some of the top of the line models. You can find treadmills for sale in a wide variety of places such as your local paper, Craig’s List, Amazon.com or of course your local exercise equipment store or even specialized dealers.

While there are literally hundreds of brands to consider, some of the more popular brands are Life Fitness, Nordictract, Weslo, Proform, York and Elliptical. But in truth this only begins to crack the surface. There are many brands worth considering and you will find reviews throughout this site of the many options available to you.

Another major thing to consider is space. If you have a home gym you might consider looking into used commercial exercise equipment. There are a lot of cheap high-end treadmill options out there available for a cheap price if you go this route. Or, if you plan on simply owning a single machine in your house or apartment, perhaps a folding treadmill is a better way to go. They sometimes have fewer features than their commercial counterparts but for your average person, they will do just fine.

One final thing to be aware of is the quality of your machine. While many of the major brands such as 2nd Wind, Cybex Fitness, Pro Form, Merit and Bowflex come with solid warranties when buying a new machine, the prices can be quite high on the major brands so there is a cost/risk equation to consider. That being said, should your treadmill motor ever break down or should you find yourself in need of some hard to find part, the warranty will certainly come in handy as repair men don’t come cheap.

So whether you are an athlete looking to add some walking or running to your bodybuilding or work out routine, or you are a just an average Joe looking for a cheap folding treadmill with which to loose a little weight and improve your cardio, you have a lot to consider before shelling out your hard earned money on what can be a very expensive piece of equipment. Hopefully the various reviews on this site can help make that decision a little bit easier.

Over 3 million people have turned to the Treadmill Doctor when seeking help with the decision of deciding which treadmill is best for their situation. When you take notice to what’s available on the website of the Treadmill Doctor you wouldn’t be surprised.

On this site you can carry out what seems to be the ultimate research on treadmills. You can perform a complete and thorough analysis of several types of machines for your home gym before making a decision.

This type of research is important, so you’re not over-charged and at the same time you don’t want to buy a cheap piece of exercise equipment that isn’t going to help you achieve your goals.

The reviews available on the site are mostly reviews of equipment that has actually been tested by one or a group of team members at the Treadmill Doctor. Plus they aren’t associated with any particular company or equipment. So you can count on an unbiased opinion.

This should provide you with the confidence that you’re not just being told whatever you want to hear in order to get you to buy something. You’ll feel the expertise flowing through the conversation with the representatives of the Treadmill Doctor.

On top of the extraordinary website and the expertise of the representatives you can find other helpful items for your home gym. You can find missing or damaged parts for exercise equipment you’re currently using in your commitment to home fitness. Also the spare parts carried on the site are of high quality.

When it comes to treadmills, a lot of people make the mistake of thinking that all treadmills are the same. That’s not true, and a little bit of research at the Treadmill Doctor would prove that. Most people just go for the cheapest exercise equipment they can find. This is not necessarily a good idea especially if what you’re purchase will not help you achieve your goals.

So if you’re purchasing a treadmill and want the facts about which treadmills are best in terms of effectiveness, replacement parts, cost, etc. you should at least take a look at the website for the Treadmill Doctor.

Imagine what a dog treadmill could do for your dog’s daily exercise routine. It wouldn’t matter if you had a huge back yard or lived in a smaller apartment. Your dog would always have enough space to get a good workout in. It’s more common than you may know.

Dog treadmills are used by dog owners for several reasons. One really popular reason is to train show dogs. This is how some of these dog owners get their animals to rehearse the perfect stride around the floor of the dog show. With the treadmill the gait can be perfected for certain speeds through consistent repetition.

Then there is the same reasons humans use exercise equipment. Athletic dogs use dog treadmills to keep in top shape in the off season and to avoid the unpredictability of mother nature.

Another use for dog treadmills that are similar to what humans use a treadmill for would be rehabilitation. After an injury, treadmills are a great way to provide exercise for you dog while monitoring their activity at the same time. Before doing something like this you’ll want to consult with your dog’s veterinarian the same way you’re suppose to consult with your physician.

As with any purchase, you want do your research before-hand. Which has become amazingly easy with invent of the internet. You can use search engines, read reviews and more to determine what’s best for you and your dog.

There are some things you should definitely keep in mind when making a purchase for a dog treadmill. You should do your best to seek out companies that specialize in creating this type of equipment. Research different features that could increase the effectiveness of your dog’s home fitness.

You should also try to speak with dog trainers with experience in exercising dogs on treadmills. Remember as much as you love your dog, they will most likely not understand the reason for the treadmill and will require some practice before getting the hang of the whole exercise thing.

This is one of the main reasons you want to make sure you’re purchasing quality exercise equipment. In order to help your dog defeat the fear of the treadmill they’ll need a stable, quality dog treadmill they’ll feel confident standing on.

Whether you are looking for a rowing machine so you can get yourself in shape or if you are looking for a commercial quality rower to round out your home gym, a rowing machine is an excellent addition to your collection of fitness equipment. Rowing works nearly every major muscle group and is great for cardio as well. It helps build your arm, leg, back buttock and abdominal muscles and is my highest recommended exercise machine for anyone who is on a budget and can only afford a single piece of equipment.

Speaking of which, these machines are not cheap. You can buy used rowing machines on Craig’s List and even Amazon, and you will of course be able to find rowing machines for sale at your local fitness store and maybe even commercial gym equipment shops that are selling some of their older or used models at discount prices.

The following is a list of some of the more popular models and brands of rowing machines I found for sale as both used and new, with very little effort using a combination of Google, Craig’s List and the local news paper.

Concept 2

Stamina Body Trac Glider

Kettler Coach

Kettler Kadett

Body Sculpture

This took only about 5 minutes and the list goes on from there. As to which is the best rowing machine, well.. that is of course a matter of personal opinion. Just make sure you shop around and find a price that is right for you, as rowing machines and home fitness exercise equipment in general can be quite expensive. So be sure to spend some time doing a little research and the best price!

In addition to a treadmill, another great addition to any home gym or exercise routine is a rowing machine. They provide the user with an excellent, low impact workout that benefits all of the major muscle groups of your body. You should see improvements in your arms, legs, back, abdominal muscles and more. Depending on which machine you buy, a rower can also be an incredibly compact machine which is very handy for anyone who is short on space but still wants to get a lot of physical bang for their buck so-to-speak.

There are many quality brands on the market worth considering. Just a few of the major rowers on the market are Concept2, Kettler Coach, Stamina, Confidence, LifeSpan Fitness and the Spartan Sports Magnetic Rower. Prices vary dramatically from less than $100 for a used machine to over a thousand dollars. Just as an example, one of our favorite machines is the Concept2 Model D Indoor Rowing Machine, however they can run upwards of $1000 which certainly doesn’t make this the rower for everyone. At the very least you certainly want to shop around.

There are also a number of different types of rowing machines such as air, magnetic and water rowers. The “best” rower is ultimately one that you can afford and that you actually use. There are a number of rowing machine reviews on this site that can ultimately help you zero in on which one is right for you.

While each manufacturer boasts a variety of features, a few features that you may want to consider are the shock resistance, manual resistance, the strength and material of the machine, weight capacity and whether or not the machine is a folding or static machine. Another important feature you need to be sure not to over look is the seat. It may sound silly but you will be spending a lot of time using your exercise equipment. If you are not comfortable on the machine, you simply won’t use it as much. This is easily overlooked but important to remember.

The bottom line is that rowing is thought by many to be one of the best forms of physical activity for improving cardiovascular as well as physical strength and a rowing machine can offer an ideal workout for anyone who wants to get into great physical shape with a single piece of exercise equipment.
